  • Ongoing Position - unique opportunity for MRI training within a large tertiary hospital radiology department that provides an extensive MRI service
  • Potential to work exclusively in MRI or to train in MRI and then rotate between other areas.
  • Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight

The Department

Alfred Hospital's Radiology Department is one of Melbourne’s leading tertiary teaching and trauma hospitals. Alfred Radiology Department values education and professional development and utilises modern technologies across all modalities to imaging challenging patients.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a radiographer looking to expand their skill and knowledge base. This position will provide a qualified radiographer with extensive training in all aspects of the MRI service at the Alfred.    Your role will be to provide the best possible radiographic examination ensuring patient comfort, welfare and safety in accordance with established radiographic practice, ethics and code of conduct. Once trained this role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to rotate through all aspects of the department's MRI service to allow the broadest range of experience. This will include supporting our inpatient, outpatient and research services and will enable skill development in advanced neurological and cardiac MRI in addition to  more routine MRI examinations. The successful candidate will have the option of working exclusively in MRI or the potentially to rotate between other modalities by arrangement.

 

Skills

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
  • Eligibility for A.S.M.I.R.T.
  • Statement of Compliance
  • Commitmet to obtain A.S.M.I.R.T. Level One MRI Accreditation or equivalent and complete IV cannulation training
  • National Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Medical Imaging Technologist
  • Victorian Department of Health Radiation Use Licence
  • Evidence of CPD in line with registration requirements.
  • Good communication skills

  • Desire to specialise in MRI 
  • 12 months experience as a Radiographer
