Personal Assistant – Prof/Director Infectious Diseases Program and Clinical Service Director, Infectious Diseases Program

About us

The Department of Infectious Diseases The Alfred and Monash University is one of the largest medical units within the Alfred. It incorporates the Victorian HIV Service and Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology Unit. The Department also is a part of Monash University where the majority of research and research collaborations in the unit is conducted through.

About the role

This position is a key role within the Alfred Infectious Diseases Program. They will provide personal assistant support to the Professor/Director and the Clinical Service Director who lead the program they will also provide PA assistance to other members of the senior medical team. The role will provide a range of administrative duties including reception for the Program offices, diary management, coordinating meetings, reviewing/preparing documents, overseeing the office facility, administration duties to support the operations of the Program and staff within it.  The role will also cover the other secretarial position during leave. 

 

The Department of Infectious Diseases host a number of internal and external events such as symposia and educational seminars/conferences, this role will assist in the planning and coordinating these events with key clinical staff.  The role will also be involved in ad-hoc project work as required general support to the overall operations of the Infectious Diseases Program.

The Department sits across The Alfred and Monash University and thus there will be additional administration functions and project support required with the Department’s research activity through Monash University.

About you

  • Essential

    • Successful completion of a secretarial course or similar or demonstrated PA experience
    • At least 5 years’ experience working in a PA/Administrative Assistant role

     

    Desirable

    • Previous experience working within a healthcare setting
