As per the new National Framework for Pre-Vocational Trainees (NFPMT), the PGY2 program at Alfred Health is designed to provide you with the generalist experience and foundational skills.

The PGY2 program will offer you the exposure to clinical care of patients in each of the following clinical experiences: 
A. Undifferentiated illness patient care 
B. Chronic illness patient care 
C. Acute and critical illness patient care

You will have the opportunity to nominate your rotation preferences.

Available rotations include the following:

  • Burns
  • Facio-Maxillary
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • ED Alfred
  • ED Sandringham
  • ENT
  • General Surgery Alfred
  • Neurosurgery
  • Nights Surgical / Reliever
  • Nights Medical / Reliever
  • Critical Care Reliever
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopaedics - The Alfred
  • Orthopaedics - Sandringham
  • Plastics
  • Trauma
  • Urology
  • Vascular
  • Anaesthetics
  • ICU
  • Cardiology
  • Geriatric Orthopaedics
  • Geriatric Trauma
  • Acquired Brain Injury Unit
  • Rehabilitation
  • Psychiatry
  • Radiation Oncology
