  • Permanent, Part time (0.8EFT/64 hours)
  • Based at the Alfred’s Older Adult IPU – The Greenhouse
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2
  • Rotating 24 hours shift roster with hours scheduled over 7 days per week

The Department

The Adult and Older Adult Service combines AMAH Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services to provide comprehensive, person-centred support for adults and older adults. We offer a wide range of therapeutic, addiction, trauma-informed, and family violence services.

Our approach focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation, supporting individuals at every stage of their recovery journey.

The Greenhouse operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and provides a graduated model of residential rehabilitation for people with mental illness and associated disability unable to be supported in less intensive community options.

The Role

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop skills in community and develop a portfolio of community support services.

You’ll provide safe, high quality nursing care to meet the individual needs of our residents. As one of our RPNs, you will involve the patient, family, significant others and other service elements in the development of the plan of care and its implementation incorporating a plan for discharge.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Registration as a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board via APHRA.
  • Post registration experience is essential, preferably in inpatient or residential rehabilitation settings.
  • Demonstrated ability in psychiatric assessment and the management of mental illness and interventions required to support recovery.
  • Relevant knowledge and demonstrated skills in mental state assessment and knowledge of residential rehabilitation and practice is essential to undertake this role.
  • Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination
  • Be willing to complete a background check
