The Opportunity

Neurotrauma Grade 3 Occupational Therapist – a key leadership position in the Occupational Therapy Department

Take your career to the next level in this senior leadership role, where you’ll serve as a key member of the Occupational Therapy leadership team and lead the acute Neurotrauma stream.

In this role, you will:

• Lead with Expertise
  • Bring advanced clinical skills to manage complex patient presentations, including stroke, acquired brain injury, neuro-oncology and multi-trauma conditions.

  • Support and elevate the practice of your colleagues through mentorship, supervision, and leadership across the team.

  • Work closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to deliver seamless, patient-centred care and support transitions back to home and community.

  • Lead education, training, and quality improvement initiatives. Represent Allied Health on committees and help shape the future of service delivery.

  • Play a key role in supervising and mentoring junior staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• Advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills in neurological and trauma/orthopaedic diagnostic groups, as well as evidence-based practice in the care of acquired brain injury including management of post traumatic amnesia.
• Stream leadership experience and provision of supervision to occupational therapy staff, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students.
• A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development.
• Understanding of quality improvement/research frameworks and research translation skills. 
• Flexibility and adaptability in both clinical service provision and interactions with the team.
• The ability to work effectively as an Allied Health Professional by being able to demonstrate an ability to work within and across teams.

Qualifications Required

• B. App Sc (OT), B. Occupational Therapy, MOT prac or recognised equivalent
• Full Registration held with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
• Minimum seven years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence (unrestricted)
