Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

  • Fixed-Term Full-time (40hours a week with flexible monthly ADO) to March 2026
  • Based in St Kilda Rd with some travel required
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 3, or Occupational Therapist / Social Worker Grade 2

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

The Navigation Service includes a number of different streams and is tasked with ensuring the timely intake of clients to the service and ensuring patient flow throughout Community Psychiatry. This includes Access and Consultation (Intake) and the Brief Interventions Team (BIT).

What you’ll be doing

The role of the Brief Intervention Clinician is to offer short term support, linkage and referral to primary care & community services for clients identified as not requiring ongoing case management, however would benefit from clinical support for a period of up to 3 months.

About you

  • Approved tertiary qualifications and registered with relevant registering body: Nurses and Midwives Board / Occupational Therapy Board via AHPRA, or AASW
  • Significant full-time clinical experience and post graduate qualifications are desirable
  • Australian working rights
  • 2025 Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Be willing to undergo a Background Check
