The Department

The Malignant Haematology, Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Services (MHTCTS) at The Alfred collects, processes and cryopreserves cells for transplantation as part of the care for patients with haematological diseases including leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and related disorders. We continue to expand our cellular therapy capabilities as a standard-of-care and clinical trial site for CAR-T therapies. The service also collects cells from unrelated donors on behalf of Stem Cell Donors Australia and provides molecular chimerism testing following allogeneic stem cell transplantation.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Manager to join the MHTCTS at The Alfred. The successful applicant will be responsible for the operational management and continuous improvement of the MHTCTS Quality Management System, supporting compliance with the requirements of NATA, Stem Cell Donors Australia, FACT-JACIE, commercial manufacturers and clinical trial sponsor requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required

The successful applicant will have: 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of cellular therapy quality management.
• Tertiary qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science or a health-related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems.
• Internal auditor experience, with Lead Auditor qualifications highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience working within regulated quality frameworks including NATA and FACT-JACIE.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate audit readiness, accreditation activities and quality improvement initiatives.
