Bayside Health
Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland. We have more than 15 main sites, including hospitals, centres and clinics that provide comprehensive care from welcoming newborns to supporting older people and a full range of services in between. More than 22,000 dedicated staff are focused on providing exceptional, equitable, and locally connected care through shared expertise, compassion, and a commitment to continuous growth. Education and training are central to staff development as we encourage all employees to strive and thrive. Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
We are offering a Paediatric Registrar position at Bayside Health - Alfred Care Group. Alfred Care Group participates in the Victorian Paediatric Advanced Training (VPAT) centralised match for advanced trainees in Paediatrics in Victoria. Our training position will be appointed through the VPAT match and applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners.

The hospital provides a Level 3 Special Care Nursery to support the Obstetric Service provided by Maternity (up to 1500 obstetric deliveries per year) and provide care for premature babies transferred from Level 4-5 nurseries. Alfred CYMHS (Child and Youth Mental Health Service) is also part of Alfred Health. The Paediatric Unit is supported by six VMO Paediatricians.
Sandringham Hospital is currently recruiting for 2027 one advanced paediatric trainee for a position accredited with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Physicians as elective training. If the 12 month full time position is completed, this satisfies 12 months non-core general paediatrics.
