  • Fixed Term – 6 months contract, with possibility to extend

Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC Trials) is one of the leading collaborative trials group for investigator‑initiated melanoma and skin cancer research across Australia and New Zealand. Working with leading researchers and institutions locally and around the globe, MASC Trials develops, conducts, and publishes research and clinical trials that improve melanoma and skin cancer outcomes.

MASC Trials is a registered not‑for‑profit organisation with an academic affiliation to Monash University through the MASC Research Centre, which provides dedicated support for our research activities.

Our portfolio is diverse and rapidly expanding, spanning prevention, early detection, and treatment of melanoma and skin cancer, from early‑phase studies through to large, late‑phase clinical trials. We are a dynamic organisation with global reach and a strong track record of delivering impactful research.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Clinical Trial Assistant /Administrative Officer to provide high‑quality operational and administrative support across the MASC Trials clinical trial portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and eager to contribute to meaningful research.

The successful candidate will support effective teamwork and collaboration across the department and play an active role in advancing the broader goals of MASC Trials.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the clinical trials team
  • Assist with coordination of study activities across multiple trials
  • Communicate professionally with researchers, clinicians, trial site staff, university representatives, and internal colleagues
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Support the Clinical Trial Manager and other team members as required

You will work under the supervision of the Clinical Trial Manager, with opportunities to contribute across a range of studies and operational functions.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Relevant undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field
  • Previous experience in research administration or clinical trial experience and/or administrative experience in Government, University or Health Sector
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Highly developed organisational skills and proven ability to establish priorities, manage tasks, exercise sound judgement and work to multiple, tight and conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and respect confidentiality at all times
  • Willing to learn, flexible approach in dealing with change
  • Demonstrates reliable and consistent follow‑through with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintaining a positive, solutions‑focused approach
