Alfred Health is equipped with one of the world's most advanced hyperbaric facilities and provides Victoria’s state-wide service in hyperbaric medicine. The Hyperbaric Service is a part of the Department of Intensive Care and Hyperbaric Medicine and provides care to a wide range of patients including non-emergency and emergency patients.
The Hyperbaric team are seeking a suitably qualified medical practitioner with training and experience in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine to join the Senior Medical Staff team with the Hyperbaric Service at Alfred Health. This temporary appointment will be for 16 hours per fortnight during the period 1 August 2025 through to 1 February 2026. Exact roster may be able to be flexible but does include after hours and weekend call.
Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
- Be a legally qualified practitioner, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellow of the relevant college
- Advanced qualification in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (DHM) issued by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), or equivalent
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Hyperbaric Medicine is required
- Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Hyperbaric Medicine
- Demonstrated leadership in the delivery of clinical services
- Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
- Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
- Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
