Alfred Health

Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

Department

Our Safety & Wellbeing team is dynamic group of four high performing work areas; Injury Management, Health and Safety, Wellbeing and Training. Together, we collaborate to deliver comprehensive Health and Safety service across Alfred Health, ensuring a safe and supportive workplace for all. 

Position

As an Occupational Health and Safety Business Partner, you'll take charge of a service portfolio (Caulfield and Sandringham) and play a vital role in driving Alfred Health's Working as part of the Safety & Wellbeing Team. Yur contribution will be crucial in fostering a positive safety culture across the organisation. 

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • A Cert IV/Diploma in in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety and a working knowledge of Victorian Health and Safety legislation, along with at least 2-3 years in a simular fast-paced role.
  • Strong coaching abilities, stakeholder management, problem solving skilss and proficiency in Office 365 and incident reporting software (Riskman)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and understanding importance of excellent record keeping standards and safety KPIs.
  • High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence and the ability to travel between Alfred Health worksites as required.

Desirable

  • Experience in Workplace Training and/ or a Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
  • ICAM trained
