The Department

Health Information Services provides a range of functions across Bayside Health – Alfred Care Group.

These include Victorian Admitted Episode Dataset (VAED) reporting, medical record management, clinical information requests, dictation and transcription services, Alfred and Caulfield Switchboard Services along with Enquiries Services at The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and the Paula Fox Melanoma Cancer Centre.

The Role

Alfred Health's HIS department has a permanent part-time opportunity, primarily based at The Alfred Hospital. The position is rostered across weekdays and may include public holidays coverage.

In this position your role will include release of Information to external health services, document collection from clinical areas, preparation, scanning, quality checks, validation and archiving of medical record documents.

Other HIS administrative duties may be included in this role.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Higher School Certificate/Victorian Certificate of Education
  • Highly developed organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Administrative and customer service experience in a hospital environment desirable
