Alfred Psychiatry is seeking applications from motivated psychiatry registrars who share The Alfred’s values and wish to participate in the Psychiatry Registrar Training Program, starting February 2027.
The Epilepsy Psychiatry Registrar (0.5 FTE) at The Alfred Hospital is a supervised specialist training position within the Neuropsychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry programs, providing assessment and management of patients with epilepsy-related psychiatric disorders and functional neurological disorder (FND) including functional seizures, across inpatient and outpatient settings. The registrar will work within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team alongside consultant neuropsychiatrists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, nursing, and allied health clinicians, with regular supervision, teaching, and opportunities for joint assessment and case discussion. The role offers valuable experience in neuropsychiatric assessment, psychotherapy-informed management, multidisciplinary care, and the opportunity for participation in clinical research and service development within the Alfred Functional Seizures Clinic.
