The Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship is an innovative program which aims to develop consolidation level practitioners in a chosen clinical specialty. You will be supported with a mentor, regular feedback and cohort of ambitious fellows. In 2018, Fellowships are available in Cardiology, Trauma Services and Geriatric Medicine. Appointment is subject to acceptance in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy (research stream) at Monash University. On successful completion of the Fellowship, you will receive a part-scholarship of $10,000.

At Alfred Health, clinical pharmacists are attached to medical units and work alongside medical, nursing and allied health teams to achieve the best medication outcomes for patients. Each team of clinical pharmacists is supported by a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with specialist expertise. This unit and team based structure underpins the excellence in patient care of our clinical pharmacy services. Further information is available at


We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated pharmacists with approximately 3-5 years clinical pharmacy experience join our team as Clinical Pharmacy fellows. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication management outcomes for individual patients. Working closely with your mentor in your specialty, you will undertake your Masters of Clinical Pharmacy, a research project and gain specialist knowledge. You will contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to practice based research projects and service and practice improvement work. As Alfred Health is an academic health centre, you will supervise and mentor local and international students as well as intern pharmacists.


To succeed as a Clinical Pharmacy Fellow at Alfred Health you need to demonstrate:

· Excellent clinical skills, knowledge, judgment and reasoning

· Experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services in a hospital

· Patient-centred approach to care

· Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work and deliver to deadlines

· Problem solving and risk assessment abilities and the ability to use initiative
