About us
The Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) at Alfred Health is a community-based service that provides comprehensive assessment, treatment and case management to infants, children, adolescents and young people up to the age of 25 years of age presenting with behavioural, emotional, psychiatric or developmental difficulties. ICYAMHWS provides clinical services in partnership with a wide range of service providers to achieve the best possible outcomes. The service is committed to active participation by families and young people in evaluating and improving our services.
ICYAMHWS is committed to active participation by young people, families and consumers and carers with lived experience through all phases of service planning, implementation and evaluation.
About the role
The position is permanent part-time (0.7 FTE) based in the Neurodevelopmental Stream, on the Developmental Assessment & Management Program (DAMP). The senior clinician will provide senior clinical leadership to the developmental assessment program, case management, consultation, discipline assessment and intervention.
The senior clinician is expected to have a commitment to high standards of client care and family support.
The incumbent will work with children, adolescents, young adults and families co-ordinating neurodevelopmental team assessments and contributing to multidisciplinary team assessment/treatment, when a neurodevelopmental disorder such as Autism Spectrum Disorder is in question.
This position currently operates within office hours. In the near future, ICYAMHWS will be expanded to operate after hours and weekends. When this service expansion occurs, this position will be expected to work rostered shifts across weekdays, afterhours and weekends.
About you
Essential:
Social Work
- Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for membership of AHPRA or the appropriate professional body\
- Approved degree in Social Work.
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Occupational Therapy / Speech Pathology
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA as appropriate to discipline requirements or to register with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Minimum 7 years clinical experience.
Psychologist
- Full registration with AHPRA under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
- Endorsement as a clinical psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009.
- A Masters of Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent), complies with the code of ethics and legal requirements of the psychology profession.
- Approved Supervisor Status with the Psychology Board of Australia.
