Alfred Health has received Commonwealth funding via the Victorian Department of Health to provide a service allowing access to HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) free of charge to people at risk of HIV who do not have Medicare access.  This is an important initiative to assist in eliminating HIV transmission in Australia.  The service will be delivered by The Victorian HIV Service and Melbourne Sexual Health Service.  This position is based within The Victorian HIV Service and as part of the HIV prevention team the role provides outpatient care to people seeking PrEP who do not have access to medicare.  As part of a small nursing team you will triage, assess and provide ongoing management to this population in a nurse led model of care.  In addition the role will undertake assessments and coordinate responses for people seeking HIV post exposure prophylaxis (PEP).

  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
