We are now seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Lead to join our dynamic HRIS project team. This is an exciting opportunity to join the project and help shape our future post our recent Health Service merger. 

The Department

The Finance Program provides financial and ancillary services to Alfred Health. These include Financial Accounting, Financial Services, Data and Analytics, Performance Monitoring and Reporting, Capital Expenditure and Asset Management, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Patient Revenue Services, Treasury, HRIS and Payroll, Procurement, Property and Supply Chain.

The Role

The Test Lead will be responsible for leading, planning and managing all phases of structured testing (SIT/UAT/PVT) associated with deployment of the new Bayside SuccessFactors, EC Payroll and UKG Pro instances.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of enterprise level test management and leading a team of testers. The role will work closely with our implementation partner, wider project team and other stakeholders to ensure quality delivery, stakeholder alignment, and effective coordination of testing activities across the project lifecycle.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities including test planning, test case design, execution, and defect management for all three new HRIS systems (SuccessFactors, EC Payroll and UKG Pro), across all testing and project lifecycle phases
  • Lead a team of dedicated testers
  • Develop and maintain test cases and test scripts aligned with business and system requirements.
  • Oversee test execution cycles, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met.
  • Prepare and deliver test status reports, metrics, and quality dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, workstream leads, business stakeholders and vendor partners to ensure testing objectives are achieved along with successful validation and sign-off.
  • Manage and mentor the testing team, allocating tasks and monitoring progress.
  • Report testing progress, escalating risks and issues along with any assistance needed in a timely fashion.

Key capabilities

  • Proven experience working as a Test Lead on similar large system delivery projects, within a team and/or transformation program, in a complex matrix environment.
  • Strong hands-on testing experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other large-scale HRIS solutions e.g. Workday
  • Ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail along with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving where situations are complex.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present testing updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing testing teams.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, documentation and presentation skills.

Qualifications and Experience required

Essential          

  • Proven experience working on SAP projects, ideally within HR/SuccessFactors implementations.
  • Experience working within a high-volume environment
  • An ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment, using your own judgment and taking the initiative in problem resolution
  • Willingness to challenge and ask questions
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Enthusiasm and drive to achieve excellent results
  • MS Office Applications – Advanced to Intermediate level depending on individual relevance
