We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist looking to move into specialised practice within the Intensive Care specialty

 

The Program and Intensive Care Services  

The Alfred Care Group Advanced Training Residency Program provides pharmacists with a formal structured program to support progression to advanced practice in a specific speciality practice area. We are looking for a pharmacist with an interest in specialising in the surgical services field to join the program as an Intensive Care Advanced Training Resident 

Alfred Care Group Intensive Care Unit is one of Australia's leading Intensive Care Units, admitting over 3000 patients per annum. The state-of-the-art unit is one of the largest and certainly has the most complex case mix in the country. It is a university attached quaternary referral centre, providing State Services for heart & lung transplantation (including paediatric lung transplantation), artificial heart technology, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), burns and hyperbaric medicine. Clinical pharmacy services are fully integrated into the unit, with a dedicated team providing clinical input seven days a week.  

The Two-year Advanced Training Residency offers 

  • Formal structured learning within all ICU specialty areas within Alfred Hospital.
  • A two-year full-time Grade 2 appointment within the Alfred Clinical Pharmacy Service.
  • Formal awarding of an AdPha Registrar in the chosen specialty at the completion of the program.
  • Opportunities for breadth placements where aligned with chosen specialty 

Qualifications & Experience Required 

  • Applicant must be a registered pharmacist with AHPRA essential
  • Clinical experience of 3 to 5 years in clinical practice essential
  • Recognition as a Resident with the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) OR hold an existing industry equivalent recognition desirable
