Interventional Radiographer (DSA, Cath Lab & Fluoroscopy)

The Department
Alfred Health has one of the most experienced and technologically advanced Radiology and Nuclear Medicine departments in Australia, providing services to patients across Melbourne and greater Victoria.
The department delivers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional medical imaging services across multiple modalities using state-of-the-art equipment. As Victoria's major adult trauma centre and a leading tertiary referral service, The Alfred offers a unique environment for professional development and exposure to complex and diverse patient presentations.
The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and patient-focused Radiographer to join Alfred Health's Interventional Radiology team.
Based at The Alfred, this position offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills across Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Fluoroscopy, with comprehensive training provided for suitable candidates.
You will work alongside experienced Radiologists, Cardiologists, Nurses and Medical Imaging Technologists in a highly collaborative environment supporting both elective and emergency procedures. The role provides exposure to a broad range of vascular, non-vascular, neurological and cardiac interventions using advanced imaging equipment and techniques.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality medical imaging services while ensuring patient comfort, dignity and safety
- Assisting with a broad range of interventional radiology, angiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
- Participating in Cath Lab and DSA services with structured training and mentorship
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Maintaining high standards of radiation safety and quality assurance
- Participating in shift work and on-call requirements as required
This role is ideal for Radiographers seeking to expand their clinical expertise into procedural and interventional imaging within a supportive teaching environment.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Sciences) or equivalent
- Eligibility for ASMIRT. Validated Statement of Accreditation
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist
- Victorian Department of Health Use Licence
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care and quality improvement
Previous experience in Interventional Radiology, Angiography, Cardiac Catheter Laboratories or Fluoroscopy is welcomed but not essential, as training will be provided to the successful applicant.
