There will be exposure to outpatient management of heart failure, including super-specialist clinics: inherited cardiomyopathies, inflammatory cardiomyopathies and infiltrative cardiomyopathies.

The fellow will receive additional training in management of heart failure patients who are drug refractory including selecting those for more specialised adjuncts including resynchronisation therapy, mitral and tricuspid valve intervention and complex ablation.

The successful candidate will receiving training on the management of heart failure patients in Intensive Care including inotrope management and temporary mechanical circulation support initiation, optimisation and weaning (ECMO and Impella).

The fellow is expected by the end of the fellowship also be independent in performing pulmonary artery catheterisation and endomyocardial biopsies.
