Are you a passionate Carpentry Trainer & Assessor, or Carpenter looking for your next amazing opportunity? AGA (apprenticeship Group Australia) are a highly respected not for profit RTO (Registered Training Organisation). We are thrilled to be searching for additional trainers and assessors to deliver Building & Construction (Carpentry) training in our expansive, freshly renovated, state-of-the-art, purpose-built training facility!

Our Melbourne Training Center is the flagship of our 5 Victorian sites, located in Deer Park, just 25 minutes west of the CBD, perfectly positioned close to Freeway and Public Transport with free onsite parking - convenience meets excellence!

This is an absolutely incredible opportunity to deliver training in a well-equipped, hands-on environment with a wonderfully diverse cohort of learners! Not just working with adults, You'll provide enthusiastic young school students their very first taste of trades alongside our team dedicated to building future careers. Fully supported by management and our learning support team, with excellent training resources, this isn't just teaching, this is about building confidence, developing essential trade skills, and creating life / job readiness in young people at the most pivotal time in their lives!

Our VET Trainer 's Play a key part in AGA's one-of-a-kind 6.5-year training journey. Students kick off their trade career in Year 10, level up through a two-year Pre-Apprenticeship in Years 11 & 12, then launch into a full four-year apprenticeship.

Our Carpentry Trainers deliver a fantastic variety of programs including:

  • Multi Industry Pathway Programs - Year 10 Trade Taster Program
  • 22614VIC - Certificate II in Building and Construction (Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry) - Year 11&12
  • CPC30220 - Certificate III in Building and Construction (Apprenticeship) - Young Adults & Adults as well as School Based Apprentices / SBAT
  • CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (whitecard)
  • Our recently launched workplace training model allows apprentice training to be delivered in our Training Centers or directly in the students workplace's.

What you'll do..

  • Provide fun, practical, hands-on and engaging carpentry training aligned to industry standards
  • Work with energetic teenage students in Years 10–12 enrolled in VET, VDSS, VETDSS, VCE Vocational Major, or VPC programs
  • Work with motivated adult Pre-Apprentices and Apprentices
  • Foster safe, engaging, real-world learning environments in both classrooms and workshops
  • Collaborate with a supportive, passionate leadership team who truly care about your success

What you'll bring..

  • Enthusiasm, energy, strong communication skills and computer literacy
  • A good attitude and a safety first approach
  • Working with Children Check

Experienced Trainers

  • Trade qualification in Building & Construction (Carpentry)
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) - TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 (other superseded qualifications considered)
  • Alternatively those with education or teaching qualifications as well as trade qualifications and experience also considered

Tradies who want to be Trainers

  • Trade qualification in Building & Construction (Carpentry)
  • 5 years industry experience - Carpenter, Builder or similar...
  • Willingness to complete TAE40122 certificate IV in Training Assessment (With support and assistance provided by AGA)
