Business Traineeship

Join AGA and complete a 12-month Business Traineeship within a supportive secondary school in Melbourne’s North.

We are seeking a confident, mature-minded and professional trainee to join the school’s front office. This role is perfect for someone looking to start or restart their career in administration, enjoys variety, and thrives in a people-focused environment.

About the Role

Working full-time, Monday to Friday, you will be the first point of contact for students, parents and staff. Every day is different — you’ll handle enquiries at reception, support students with compassion, manage busy phone lines and inboxes, and assist with important school administration tasks.

The right person will be able to composed under pressure, friendly, organised and eager to learn.

Daily Responsibilities

• Front reception duties: greeting students, parents and visitors
• Providing customer service in a fast-paced school environment
• Answering phones, responding to emails and directing enquiries
• Updating and managing school databases and records
• Providing first aid support when required
• Supporting staff with general administrative tasks
• Attending block training in Deer Park during school holidays

What We’re Looking For

• Mature-minded and resilient, able to manage the business of a school front office
• Strong communication skills and a calm, friendly manner
• Well-presented and professional
• Confident using computers and learning new systems
• Positive attitude and commitment to completing the traineeship
• Working With Children Check (required)
• First Aid & CPR certification (highly desirable)
