About the role:

We are currently seeking a superstar candidate who is highly passionate about working in a space with students and providing high quality care and support to both students and teachers. The ideal candidate will be capable of working in a classroom setting with vulnerable primary aged students as this school is a specialist school, as well as be available to work Monday - Friday 30 hours a week.

About you:

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to follow instructions from teachers as well as use initiative
• Compassionate, caring and patient
• Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Willing to attend RTO/TAFE training located in Deer Park during school holidays
• Valid Victorian Working with Children Check
• Able to commit to a 12 month Traineeship
• Must NOT have completed a Certificate III or higher in Education Support in the last 7 years

What you will do:

• Provide routine support for teachers
• You will be required to work under the direct supervision of a teacher 
• Communicating with student/s to support comprehension of basic tasks and information
• Addressing immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedures
• Will provide basic physical and emotional care for students
• Work closely with children who have disabilities/special needs
