The role

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated Mechanical Tradesperson based at our Stapylton site. This is a full-time position as an integral member of the team rotating on both the morning and afternoon shifts supporting our 24hr production facilities. 

In this role you will be able to apply your technical expertise working in a team environment and autonomously on plant maintenance. Great opportunities for development and advancing your skills on heavy industry equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure commitment to safety, quality, and the environment
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs on a range of fixed plant with a particular emphasis on planned and predictive / preventative maintenance.
  • Work closely with the Operations team during breakdowns, fault finding and troubleshooting issues.
  • Effectively respond to callouts and unplanned maintenance in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Perform major overhauls through various plant shutdowns.
  • Focus on continuous improvement ideas.
  • Provide direction to contractors and work groups as required.

What you will need to succeed

  • Trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter) preferably with a background in heavy industry
  • A confident, self-motivated, energetic individual
  • A team player with a high degree of trade flexibility
  • Ability to work, at times, autonomously and without direct supervision.
  • Post Trade certificate and experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
  • Basic computer skills
  • High Risk Forklift license – desirable but not essential
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space – desirable but not essential
  • EWP tickets – desirable but not essential
