Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator in Brisbane (Part-time)

As an HSE Coordinator for our Queensland region, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping a workplace culture that prioritises well-being and environmental responsibility. Ready to make a real impact? As a key member of our HSE team, you’ll:

  • Provide HSE guidance and advice to team leaders, project managers and employees with our HSE management system, risk assessments, project HSE documentation and tools, and emergency response processes.
  • Support injury and claims management, liaising with employees, managers and insurers to ensure a physically and psychologically safe return to work following injury or illness.
  • Champion a proactive HSE learning culture by engaging with teams to understand daily safety practices, identifying successful adaptions in work, and encouraging feedback to improve systems and controls
  • Support the understanding and implemention of critical HSE controls, monitoring compliance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Analyse incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and working with the business to determine suitable corrective actions.
  • Share HSE knowledge, keeping teams informed and empowered with the latest insights.

Please note that this is a part-time role that offers the flexibility of 3 days a week or 22.5 hours per week.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in HSE or a similar risk-focused role, ideally within a comparable industry.
  • Experience in managing workers compensation claims return to work plans.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Teamwork and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Technical HSE expertise, including training, auditing, and investigation capabilities.
  • Understanding of contemporary safety approaches, or a willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) certification (highly desirable).
