The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Administrator to join our Newcastle Team, working directly on a program of works with our client, a major utilities provider on a 2 Year Full Time Contract.

The successful applicant will be able to balance multiple work fronts, have attention for detail, understands construction contracts and can support a team whilst maintaining an approachable, professional and positive disposition. 

What you’ll do:

  • Commercial reviews and negotiations of contracts and other project documents across our broad range of projects;
  • Monitoring key contract risks and delivering contract administration rigour into our project management approach;
  • Assist in the development of a contractual correspondence suite and user guide
  • Provide contract and procurement support across multiple, diverse projects.
  • Work with our client’s legal team on contract reviews to make sound commercial decisions on contractual risk, and;
  • Assist in resolving commercial issues and linking with our project controls platform to ensure connection with the financial management functions.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Typically have 3-6 years relevant experience
  • Degree level qualifications in Contract Law, Construction Management, Commerce/Finance, Engineering, or associated discipline.
  • Experience in a commercial/contract management related role ideally within construction/ infrastructure/ utilities industries
  • Experience with various commercial models such as Alliance / Joint Venture / Design and Construct would be well regarded.
  • GC21 contract administration experience (preferred)
  • Exposure to Contractor and Supplier procurement in a government environment including probity requirements
  • Financial and numerical acumen
  • Sound knowledge of risk management processes and assessment, and risk mitigation
  • A desire to develop your career and experience under the guidance of industry experts
