The role

This is a newly created position, working directly with the CEO of Source. Due to business growth, we are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager based in Sydney.

This role will work closely with key internal stakeholders (Group Leadership and Source Principals) who will look to you for commercial and insightful guidance. With a clean sheet of paper, you will have the opportunity to utilise your expertise in a consultative and innovative manner to make a marked impact on the business.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Source CEO, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business forward by overseeing all commercial activities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to maximise revenue, manage costs, and optimize profitability. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational objectives and maintain a competitive edge in the market. More specifically, your role will include:

  • Partnering with the Directors to drive and achieve strategic, operational and financial performance.
  • Taking a lead role in advising on maximising revenue including the pricing of service and client retainers.
  • Manage pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure favourable terms.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
  • Undertake workforce planning which is aligned to revenue forecast and pipeline of incoming work.
  • Proactively driving and monitoring compliance.
  • Supporting the CEO to deliver against business objectives and other strategic initiatives.
  • Financial analysis and development of tools / processes to better drive business performance and assess profitability and return.
  • Ongoing management of budgeting and forecasting to contribute to the business planning process.
  • Responsible for product and service design and implementation.
  • Lead process improvements across the organisation.
  • Development and execution of client service delivery structures.
  • Providing commercial acumen training and development programs for Source employees.

About you

As a curious and analytical thinker who loves to solve business challenges, you will thrive in this collaborative culture, where thinking outside of the box is encouraged and rewarded.

You have a strong financial and consulting background, with experience working with senior stakeholders. Experience in an organisation where growth and pipeline has been a focus is highly regarded. Experience in a professional service or people based businesses will be well regarded.

You will have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce or related field;
  • a pragmatic, driven and commercial approach;
  • strong attention to detail;
  • excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and stakeholders; and
  • Strong experience in revenue and productivity optimisation, financial modelling, and commercial management.
