The Australian Government has announced a major boost for apprenticeships in priority sectors through the Key Apprenticeship Program (KAP). About the Program
The KAP offers direct financial support to eligible apprentices, helping you thrive and complete your qualification with confidence. You could receive:
- Up to $10,000 for a full-time apprenticeship
- Up to $5,000 for a part-time apprenticeship
- (Payments made at key milestones: 6, 12, 24, 36 months, plus on completion)
Two Streams to Choose From
🔋 New Energy Apprenticeship (NEA) Stream
- Work on designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining clean energy infrastructure
- Support Australia’s shift to a low-emissions economy through roles that replace fossil fuels with renewable energy solutions
🏠 Housing Construction Apprenticeship (HCA) Stream
- Contribute to building and remodelling homes, apartments, and aged care facilities
- Be part of a workforce addressing Australia’s growing housing needs
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the KAP, you must:
- Start your apprenticeship on or after 1 July 2025
- Be enrolled in a Certificate III, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma listed on the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List
- Be employed or hosted by an organisation providing hands-on experience in clean energy or housing construction
