Production and Service technician

  • Day Shift ( 8:00am- 4:00pm) Monday-Friday
  • Ability to travel to places like Sechelt and Lake Louise etc. that will require early mornings for travel or overnight trips.

A growing renewable energy company in the Vancouver Lower Mainland has a mission to reduce global carbon emissions by turning the largest source of waste into a sustainable heating and conditioning source. This person will work directly with a lead service technician to monitor, assemble, repair, and maintain machines as well as work on light industrial control equipment.

This group of 15 people is looking to hire a Production/ Service technician that will work onsite in the facility where the equipment is being built and eventually go out with the Service technician to customer's sites to install, commission and repair when necessary. 

You will have the support and autonomy to ask questions, learn different positions, try new tasks, and grow as an individual and teammate within the company.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose machine malfunctions, including pumps and valves.
  • Repair, service and refurbish existing equipment
  • Shop duties include forklift operation, inventory of parts, and tooling.
  • Building and assembling new equipment.
  • Packaging/crating equipment and preparing for shipments.

Additional duties include:

  • Possible involvement with system controls including assisting with programming and testing.
  • Site performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Site visits to system installations.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and clients.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Be a team player, helping to fill other roles when required, our team works together to achieve personal and business goals while exceeding the expectations of our clients.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, both written and verbal.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in a shop or field technician environment is a plus. A technical diploma is a large asset.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing/mechanical systems and associated components.
  • Experience with plumbing/mechanical and electrical drawings, troubleshooting equipment, and basic repair tooling experience.
  • Applicants must be local to the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong English communications skills, both verbal and written.
