Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for a Project Manager. This is a contract position for two (2) months located in Burnaby, British Columbia

Description

The Project Manager will be part of Key Account Management Team that works closely with Marketing Team, Operations Team and Senior Management to deliver projects that support process improvement, energy savings and electrification initiatives.

Accountabilities

  • Consults with internal departments, customers, and groups, with the goal of collecting of any requirements
  • Initiates projects following appropriate project management methodology including gathering and defining project requirements, developing project charters, project plans, budgets and schedules, identifying staffing requirements, and forming project teams.
  • Provides work direction and leadership to assigned project team, including scheduling, review of project efforts and removal of roadblocks which may inhibit project success.
  • Manages expectations and fosters excellent communication in a collaborative environment.
  • Creates project logs, documenting the steps and people interactions needed and performed during all the phases of a project.
  • Follows project management methods, procedures and quality objectives, and tracks metrics for assessing progress.
  • Produces written reports outlining the progress of projects, writes signoff letters and other documents associated with the completion of a project.
  • Plan, direct, and report on business process change or similar project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
  • Develop project plans and risk management plans for business process change or similar projects by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks for effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill business needs.
  • Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders through regular reporting and communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.
  • Establish standards for implementation and monitoring using excellent analytical skills and a comprehensive knowledge of project management practices and procedures to optimize project resources.

Required

  • (9) years of project management experience or equivalent.
  • Must Have strong communication skills - must be able to communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Must be an independent worker/self-starter
  • Preferred a candidate who has PM experience in a large organization
  • Education and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation, preferred
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

  • Client requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination to access job site. Providing proof of vaccination is a condition of employment with Ian Martin” for this opportunity.
  • Preference for local candidates in the lower mainland - strong candidates located elsewhere in BC will be considered.
  •  Once restrictions lift, strong preference for candidate to work out of office 1-3 times per week.
