ETRM Project Manager / Business Analyst

Our client, the largest producer of potash and the third largest producer of nitrogen fertilizer in the world with over 1,500 retail stores providing agricultural products and services for western Canadian growers has an immediate need for a ETRM Project Manager / Business Analyst. This is a contract position for seven (7) months located in the Calgary, Alberta.  

What you will do:

  • Facilitate definition of project scope, goals and deliverables in support of assigned projects in collaboration with Project Sponsors and Steering Committee members.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate resources and submit budget proposals, adhering to strict financial and resource management practices during the life of the project.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and resource schedules, and track project timelines/milestones, using appropriate planning tools.
  • Develop and deliver status reports and Steering Committee presentations on a timely basis.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project to ensure successful adoption of the business solution.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in the final Project Close report leveraging successful and unsuccessful project lessons learned.

What you will bring:

  • Demonstration of strong leadership skills through specific project team examples.
  • Experience delivering ETRM solutions (EKA Pro, FIS, Allegro, etc.)
  • Experience working with technical financial solutions and working knowledge of accounting practices through education or hands on experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with expert fluency in Microsoft tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Competent and proficient understanding of a variety of technology platforms, including ERP’s such as SAP and PeopleSoft as well as current Internet technologies.
  • Proven strength in the application and interpretation of Project Management methodologies.
  • Industry recognized certification in Project Management, with post certification experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from recognized post-secondary institution.
  • At least 5 years of business project management experience

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, vendors, and other departments.
  • Diverse and creative solution orientation focusing on both technical and process solutions for the financial business area.
  • Ability to negotiate and defuse tension in a goal oriented, complex, project environment.
  • Ability to deal with project issues and risks through the use of proven methods and strong management capability.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking capability.
  • Adept at conducting research into business solutions and products.
  • Must be able and willing to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proven team and people management/mentorship skills within a defined group as well as external relationships.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
