Our client, a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection has an immediate need for two (2) Training Specialist. This is a contract position for six (6) months. This role will be located in Key Lake, Saskatchewan (fly in/fly out camp). Candidates will need to commute to Saskatoon to catch charter flight.

  • Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
  • Rotation (2 weeks in - 2 weeks out, 11 hours a day)
  • Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing training to both and contractor personnel
  • Provide support for the site and ensure compliance to all regulatory and positional requirements
  • Create, analyse, and evaluate training courses while continually improving and looking for opportunities to gain efficiencies in the training program
  • Ensure training evaluations, forms, training hours, training materials are complete, up to date, and accurate and run deficiency reports and training reports
  • Ensure position curricula is current and is kept updated as per regulatory, corporate or site requirements, book training rooms, create sessions and identify qualified instructors to assist with non-routine training
  • Be familiar with the systematic approach to training (SAT) process and have direct experience within a previous training capacity
  • Work competently in MS Teams, MS Powerpoint, MS Word, MS Excel and Microsoft 365
  • Be a collaborative team player who is effective at building excellent relationships

Required 

  • Diploma in a trade, science, engineering, business or a training or safety related field
  • 4-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with offering training online and in person
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Assets:
  • Knowledge of Control of Hazardous Energy Training, Confined Space Training, Fall Protection Training, Chemical Awareness Training, Respirator Protection Training, Contractor Management Training, and Job Hazard Analysis Training
  • Experience using the ADDIE (Analysis Development Design Implement Evaluate) training model
  • Ability to conduct respirator fit testing
  • Certificate in Adult Education
