Falls Creek Cross Country, an arm of Howmans Gap Alpine Centre, is seeking a passionate Catering Coordinator to join their team!

About Falls Creek Cross Country

Falls Creek Cross Country (FCXC) is the premier destination for cross country skiing in Victoria. Featuring 65 kilometres of groomed cross country trails, FCXC has one of the largest and most sought-after cross country skiing areas in the country.

Linked closely with the nearby Howmans Gap Alpine Centre (and managed by YMCA Camps), FCXC is the one-stop-shop for equipment rentals, lessons, repairs, retail and trail information, with a highly experienced staff that are passionate about cross country and the local area.

About the Role

As a Catering Coordinator, you will work as a leader within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay, and that the kitchen/catering team are well supported and guided through their day-to-day duties. You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the provision and preparation of fresh, healthy and tasty food for campers, including the coordination of special diets
  • Training, coordinating, rostering and supervising cooks, kitchen assistants and other employees
  • Coordinating cleaning of dining hall and kitchen to meet the needs of groups arriving and leaving
  • Overseeing catering administration including preparing menus with consideration to budgets, implementation of food ordering within a timely manner and management of stock and account keeping systems

This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $38.77 + Super.

About You

You are a skilled chef with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the hospitality and/or catering industry, particularly in and around staff supervision and/or food purchasing
  • An understanding of the Food Safety Act and it's practical application/implementation 
  • Exceptional organisational, administration and communication skills 
  • An ability to identify, adapt and manage daily plans, tasks and procedures to achieve best practice program
  • outcomes  

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR certificate
