About the role: 

We’re seeking to engage a Project Engineer in a newly created role that will support the delivery of complex high voltage substation projects supplying Data Centres, working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure successful execution. This role is ideal for a developing professional with electrical engineering qualifications who is keen to build a career in project delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with planning, procurement, design coordination, contractor management, and monitoring project progress against schedule, cost, and quality targets.

The role provides exposure to high-value, technically complex infrastructure projects and offers a clear pathway towards project management. The Project Engineer contributes to maintaining strong health, safety, and environmental standards while supporting effective stakeholder communication and reporting. This position suits someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated to grow their technical and commercial capabilities within a dynamic project environment.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Supporting project planning, scheduling, and coordination of high voltage substation works
  • Assisting in procurement, tenders, managing contractors and suppliers to ensure safe and efficient delivery
  • Monitoring project progress against scope, cost, and quality requirements
  • Coordinating design reviews and ensuring alignment with engineering specifications
  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation, reports, and records
  • Identifying and escalating project risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Engaging with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and developing project management capabilities


About You: 

The ideal candidate is an early-career Electrical Engineer with a strong aptitude for project delivery and a clear ambition to progress into project management. They bring a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for working in fast-paced, technical environments. Comfortable navigating complex infrastructure projects, they demonstrate an ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and contribute to high-performing teams. They are motivated by the opportunity to work on critical high voltage substation projects that directly support Australia’s digital infrastructure and economic growth, and are eager to build both technical and commercial capabilities in a dynamic project setting.

  • To be selected for interview your resume should highlight
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Project Management/Construction
  • Proven understanding of project management best practice, tools, techniques, market trends and product innovation;
  • Foundational experience in supporting electrical or infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools to manage data, reporting, and project documentation
  • Time spent contributing to project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking activities
