About Zinfra:

Zinfra is a leading partner in the design, build, operation and maintenance of Australia’s energy and utilities infrastructure. Delivering over $1B portfolio annually, the work we do is essential to bringing energy to our communities safely and reliably, while powering the nation’s energy transition. With a diverse workforce of more than 2,300, we expertly deliver our services across Australia.

About the role:

We’re seeking a Site/Construction Manager to lead site-based delivery of distribution feeder and underground cabling projects, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient execution. The role manages subcontractors, coordinates construction activities, and oversees quality, cost and programme performance for non-routine works. It supports Zinfra’s long-term asset management objectives by maintaining network integrity and reliability, while driving best-practice construction outcomes. The position ensures operating and capital investments are delivered effectively, meeting both short and long-term business goals. Strong stakeholder engagement, risk management and adherence to safety and environmental standards are critical to achieving successful project delivery and sustaining operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Building team capability and driving performance through coaching, development planning and ongoing feedback.
  • Fostering high employee engagement, reducing absenteeism and supporting retention of key talent.
  • Completing regular performance reviews and strengthening depth of capability across the workforce.
  • Managing project budgets and controlling costs to deliver efficient operating and capital outcomes.
  • Delivering non-routine construction projects on time, within budget and to customer and program requirements.
  • Coordinating resources and subcontractors to ensure effective utilisation and quality delivery of works.
  • Monitoring risks, maintaining up-to-date risk registers and driving closure of non-conformances and improvements.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment, clear communication and successful project outcomes.
  • Promoting a proactive safety culture by managing hazards, ensuring compliance and supporting incident reporting and prevention.

About you:

To be selected for interview, your resume should highlight your capability to lead construction delivery within a safety-critical infrastructure environment. Ensure your resume shares details of your qualifications, technical knowledge, leadership capability and demonstrated experience aligned to asset management, program delivery and stakeholder engagement. Applications should clearly reflect both knowledge (and skills) and competencies, including a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, strategic execution, team leadership and operational decision-making.

Ensure your resume includes experience in:

  • Demonstrating significant experience in infrastructure asset management planning, including reliability optimisation and delivery of large, complex projects.
  • Delivering programs of work and managing budgets to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
  • Leading and managing professional teams, including coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Developing and managing risk, compliance and governance frameworks within a safety-critical environment.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, regulators and industry networks.
