This is a site-based leadership role overseeing complex construction activities associated with transmission line and substation projects that are critical to Australia's energy transition.
Working in an environment where accountability matters and decisions are made close to the work, you'll coordinate site delivery teams, contractors and project stakeholders to achieve safety, quality, schedule and commercial outcomes. You'll play a key role in driving construction performance while ensuring risks are effectively managed and project objectives are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the construction delivery of high voltage transmission line and substation projects from mobilisation through to commissioning support.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors and site personnel to achieve program, cost, quality and safety targets.
- Provide visible leadership across site operations, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
- Monitor construction progress, manage site risks and ensure compliance with regulatory, client and HSE requirements.
- Build strong relationships with project managers, engineers, clients and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
About You
You are a practical construction leader who enjoys being close to the work and takes ownership of outcomes. You combine strong technical capability with sound judgement, remain calm under pressure and have a proven track record delivering complex utility infrastructure projects safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience delivering high voltage substation and/or transmission line construction projects within the utilities, power or energy sector.
- Trade qualification, engineering qualification or equivalent experience in construction, electrical or infrastructure project delivery.
- Strong understanding of contractor management, construction methodology, risk management and project controls.
- Proven ability to lead site-based teams, influence stakeholders and deliver outcomes in complex operational environments.
- A collaborative, accountable and resilient leadership style with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
