About Zinfra

Zinfra is a leading partner in the design, build, operation and maintenance of Australia’s energy and utilities infrastructure. Delivering over $1B portfolio annually, the work we do is essential to bringing energy to our communities safely and reliably, while powering the nation’s energy transition. With a diverse workforce of more than 2,300, we expertly deliver our services across Australia.

About the role:

We’re seeking a commercially minded analyst to join our fast-paced Commercial team, with a focus on improving contract performance across complex infrastructure and services environments.

This role is suited to individuals transitioning from infrastructure advisory, transactions, or asset management within Big 4, who are looking to move closer to operational outcomes and tangible commercial impact.

Working closely with senior commercial leaders, you’ll apply a diagnostic, insight-led approach to understanding contract performance—translating financial and operational data into clear commercial actions that protect margin, improve outcomes, and strengthen decision-making.

A key part of the role involves evolving commercial processes and tools, using structured analysis to support standardisation, automation, and digital enablement across the contract lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analysing contract performance to identify drivers of margin erosion, underperformance, and commercial risk
  • Translating data into clear, actionable commercial insights, supporting senior stakeholders in decision making
  • Developing concise commercial insight packs (similar to client deliverables), linking financial outcomes to contractual mechanisms
  • Partnering with Commercial Managers to diagnose issues across live contracts and recommend practical, outcome-focused solutions
  • Supporting the modernisation of commercial operations, including workflow mapping, templatisation, and claims process optimisation
  • Contributing to the design and rollout of digital tools and automated workflows that improve commercial visibility and consistency
  • Working cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Process Improvement, and Digital teams
  • Helping embed scalable analytical approaches and tools across the commercial function

About you

You bring a foundation in structured problem solving and commercial analysis, with experience in environments where you’ve assessed performance, identified issues, and supported senior stakeholders with insight-driven recommendations.

You’ll likely have:

  • Experience in Big 4 (KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, EY), ideally within Infrastructure Advisory, Transactions, or Asset Management
  • Exposure to commercial performance analysis, such as reviewing project performance, identifying value leakage, or supporting investment/commercial decisions
  • Experience producing structured analysis and client-ready materials (e.g. decks, models, insight packs)
  • 1–2 years in industry (or strong exposure to real asset environments), giving you an appreciation of operational and contractual realities
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to link numbers to commercial outcomes
  • An interest in moving from advisory into a role with direct influence on contract performance and profitability
  • Exposure to process improvement, standardisation, or digital enablement initiatives is advantageous

Why this role

  • Transition from advisory into a role with direct, tangible commercial impact
  • Work on live contracts and real performance challenges, rather than retrospective analysis
  • Gain exposure to end-to-end commercial lifecycle management
  • Contribute to modernising commercial operations, including automation and digital tools
  • Partner closely with experienced commercial leaders and influence real business outcomes
