Senior Project Controller – Sydney based with travel to Lithgow, Mudgee & Muswellbrook

About Us

Zinfra is a leading infrastructure services provider committed to delivering exceptional solutions in the energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. We pride ourselves on our innovative approach, technical expertise, and dedication to safety, quality, and sustainability. Our over 2000 team members across the East Coast, consistently strive to exceed our client’s expectations and make a difference in the communities we serve.

As a Senior Project Controller, you’ll bring not only technical depth but also a thoughtful, people-centred approach that supports and uplifts our teams as they deliver some of NSW’s most meaningful infrastructure work.

This role is based in NSW, with the project spanning Lithgow, Mudgee and Muswellbrook—a pivotal power initiative supporting the state’s energy transition. While flexible work is part of how we operate, you’ll play an important role across multiple work fronts, with regular on-site engagement that helps keep our planning and construction activities aligned and progressing smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, your voice, perspective, and organisational strengths will shape how we plan and deliver complex projects.

  • Guide and coordinate time and cost management across major electrical power projects—bringing structure, calm, and clarity to teams navigating fast-moving construction environments.
  • Deliver thoughtful, accurate project controls services, including scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and system oversight—ensuring information flows clearly and reliably.
  • Champion collaborative planning, working closely with construction teams to create schedules that are realistic, well-sequenced, and grounded in practical site conditions.
  • Build trusting relationships with project managers, engineers, planners, and delivery teams—offering support, guidance, and steady decision-making when challenges arise.
  • Promote continuous improvement, wellbeing, and inclusive practices that strengthen team culture and the quality of project outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

We’re seeking someone who blends technical expertise with emotional intelligence—someone who leads with empathy, listens deeply, and brings people along with them.

  • A solid background in engineering, construction, or project delivery
  • Strong experience in construction planning and project controls, especially in time management, interface coordination, and contract administration
  • Confidence using Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, Excel and SAP
  • A steady, reflective approach to solving problems and supporting others
  • Clear, warm communication skills—you know how to explain the “why” as well as the “how,” and you value open dialogue and shared understanding

Even Better If You Have

  • On-site experience in HV substation or transmission line construction, especially in planning or sequencing work
  • A history of managing time, cost, and schedule outcomes across complex infrastructure projects
  • A collaborative style that builds confidence and helps teams perform at their best
  • Exposure to the power, energy, infrastructure, or gas transmission sectors
  • Strong commercial understanding and the ability to guide decisions with integrity and clarity

At Zinfra, we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels supported and valued. We proudly champion equal opportunity, gender equality, and First Nations representation—and we want you to come as you are. Our culture is built on care, inclusivity, and a belief that diverse perspectives make our projects and our people stronger.

We champion and value diversity in life and work experiences, as we know everyone benefits from broader diversity of thoughts in our problem solving, decision making and ability to innovate. We encourage applications from everyone, including First Nations people, veterans, people living with disability, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.

Our people are our energy source, and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you. We offer the opportunity for potential long term career growth as part of our talent development and succession planning process.
