About the role: 

The newly created role of Delivery Manager will be responsible for providing operational leadership to drive team performance, engagement, and achievement of organisational objectives. These roles are accountable for cultivating a high-performance culture, developing talent, and ensuring adherence to policies and standards. Delivery Managers will lead and mentor their teams (either Substation Technicians or HV Linesworkers) to align outcomes with customer expectations and strategic business goals, optimising resource utilisation. In addition, the role oversees the efficient delivery of assigned programs by managing internal field teams and contractors to meet targets for time, cost, safety, and performance.

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Overseeing day‑to‑day field operations, ensuring safe, timely, compliant, and high‑quality project delivery.
  • Providing guidance, setting goals, and continuously coaching team members to build capability, confidence, and strong performance.
  • Managing workforce planning activities, including recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, rostering, and resource allocation.
  • Monitoring compliance with safety, HR, industrial relations, and operational requirements while ensuring risks are identified, controlled, and mitigated.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support seamless communication and delivery.
  • Analysing operational, financial, and productivity performance, implementing corrective actions and improvement initiatives where required.
  • Coordinating training, development, and competency activities, including collaboration with Learning & Development and oversight of VOC processes.
  • Leading and participating in team, workgroup, and toolbox meetings, ensuring actions are communicated, completed, and aligned with business needs.
  • Promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and a positive safety culture by encouraging proactive behaviours, field presence, and adherence to organisational values.

  • Proven capability in resolving problems, managing issues, and responding effectively to urgent or emergency situations.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and driving innovation within operational environments.
  • Background in coaching, mentoring, or supporting the ongoing development of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience adapting to changing priorities and maintaining strong performance under pressure.
  • Proven capability in delivering high‑quality outcomes while meeting customer, operational, and commercial expectations.
