About the role
We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects across the ACT. This role offers a mix of office and field work, giving you the chance to stay close to the action while managing the bigger picture. You’ll be responsible for overseeing project development and planning, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with clients, design engineers, subcontractors and field teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities include
- Lead and manage the project through delivery, handover and occupation, including managing Head Contractor and Design teams, and critical third-party infrastructure, in alignment with client objectives and strategic goals, while ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and performance.
- Monitor safety, quality, budget, and schedule, identifying potential risks and challenges throughout the project, implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Understand and manage project budgets, ensuring financial accountability, and delivering within agreed-upon financial parameters.
- Interpret and analyse project data, using insights to flag issues, manage risks, and support informed decision-making
- Ensure project governance, reporting, and compliance obligations are met
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, including senior management, engineers, and field teams, to support smooth project execution and collaboration
- Open communication that demonstrates clear, respectful, and solutions focused engagement that values diverse perspectives, while remaining decisive, positive, and outcome driven.
About You
You’re an experienced Project Manager who brings a steady hand and a practical mindset to every job. Whether you're coordinating with crews on-site or working with clients and stakeholders in the office, you know how to keep projects moving. You’re confident managing teams, budgets, and timelines, and you communicate clearly to make sure everyone’s on the same page. You will also bring the following:
- A trade qualification and/or tertiary qualification in a relevant field, as well as a minimum 5 years’ experience managing infrastructure projects, ideally in the electrical or utilities space
- Proven infrastructure project management experience, with a strong background in planning and executing complex projects,
- Experience in managing head contractors, with a demonstrated ability to lead contract administration and commercial negotiations to achieve strategic outcomes
- A formal Project Management qualification (e.g. PMBOK) is desirable
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and reporting
- Solid understanding of safety standards and public space work environments
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to work across office and field locations
