About the role: 

Ready to lead projects that shape essential infrastructure across Victoria and Tasmania? We’re seeking to engage with talented Project Directors to join our expanding Victorian team!

As Project Director, you will take accountability for a high‑profile portfolio, driving safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery for key clients. This is an opportunity to lead from the front—bringing together people, strategy and performance to achieve exceptional outcomes. You will influence at every level, ensuring strong governance, optimised financial performance and enduring client relationships.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading and developing high‑performing project teams, ensuring effective workforce planning, capability uplift and alignment to portfolio delivery requirements.
  • Driving accountability and performance through clear objectives, KPIs and ongoing coaching to achieve portfolio outcomes.
  • Taking full ownership of financial performance, managing profit and loss, forecasting, cost control and margin optimisation across the portfolio.
  • Ensuring timely financial governance, including accurate invoicing, accruals and maintaining positive cash flow.
  • Overseeing program delivery, monitoring project schedules and ensuring milestones are achieved in line with contractual commitments.
  • Managing project risks and controls, ensuring proactive identification, assessment and mitigation across all phases of delivery.
  • Coordinating resources and delivery partners, including internal teams, subcontractors, designers and suppliers to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining strategic client relationships, fostering trust, responsiveness and long‑term partnership value.
  • Championing a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, visible leadership and consistent application of health, safety and environmental standards.

 

About you: 

To be selected for interview your profile needs to demonstrate you are a confident and commercially astute leader, recognised for delivering complex infrastructure portfolios safely and profitably. Bringing strong influencing skills, building trust with clients and inspiring high‑performing teams, while driving accountability, navigating complexity and consistently achieving program outcomes in dynamic, multi‑stakeholder environments.

Tangible Experience & Capability

  • Leading the delivery of large‑scale infrastructure or utilities project portfolios with full financial accountability
  • Driving commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting and achieving margin targets
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders and delivery partners
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams, contractors and consultants to achieve program milestones
  • Delivering electricity network and/or renewable energy projects within regulated environments
  • Applying engineering, project management or trade‑based expertise to complex project delivery
  • Managing geographically dispersed projects, with flexibility to travel and adapt to changing priorities
