About the role

The primary purpose of this role will be to schedule, manage and implement a range of field surveying work across the business to support and improve service delivery. The incumbent of this role will apply distribution and sub transmission overhead line design survey principles, standards and policies to ensure all our clients’, customer and regulatory obligations are met within the Electricity Network. Although the role is Greater Melbourne based, travel throughout Victoria may be required from time to time.

This role will be based at our Glen Waverley depot. As a Line Design Surveyor your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide overhead line design survey for distribution network assets up to 66KV, in line with asset management, customer, client and regulatory obligations.

·        Schedule, and manage a range of field surveying work across the business to support and improve service delivery.

·        Develop survey standards as may be required to established standards.

·        Supporting the Design Engineers with their design matters and conduct field assessment works as required to ensure constructability compliance can be achieved.

·        Providing specialist support and feedback to Design Engineers.

·        Maintain and update all database management systems with respect to projects and their progress.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Previous experience in a similar position within the power/utility industry, including sound knowledge of line design survey theories and practices up to 66KV.
  • Industry experience in Line Design Surveying.
  • Hold a Certificate III in Spatial Information Services or a minimum of 4 years of survey experience in the electrical industry as a Line Design Surveyor.
  • Have proven ability to meet project deadlines and budgets to agreed standards and expectations.
  • Ability to function autonomously.
  • Strong skills in maintaining best work practice for integrity and accuracy.

Please note you must possess a current Australian Driver’s Licence and continually hold this licence as travel between sites will be required.
