About the role:

We are currently seeking Technical Officer - Tester (Electrical Tester) to join our team based out of our Rowville depot this role requires the successful applicant to undertake work including a variety of calibration, diagnostic, testing and measurement services during construction, operation and maintenance to electrical protection and control equipment and electrical plant on AusNet Electricity Network. The role may be required to perform availability on call duties.

• Conduct repairs & maintenance on field distribution ground and pole top devices
• Verify the integration of protection devices with overall power system infrastructure
• Coordinate testing activities with internal & external customers
• Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment
• Prepare work records and reports as required, including input into databases and work hours/daily work records
• Comply with flexible work practices to meet system needs-including multi-skilling
• Ensure all required training and authorisations are always maintained and remain current
• Receive and provide on the job training as required

About you:

The successful candidate is required to display strong technical knowledge and experience working across power systems related to secondary equipment and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power systems/Diploma of Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

• Proven ability to undertake maintenance of High Voltage electrical apparatus and Construction activities
• Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of High and Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus on field distribution ground and pole top devices
• Ability to analyse information and resolve technical issues, including fault finding related to maintenance and commissioning of secondary systems
• Proactive in identifying the critical resources necessary to achieve desired objectives
• Capacity to act decisively to ensure network security and public safety
• Display a positive customer and team focus, working effectively, participating in identifying workplace changes or productivity improvements
• Current active Australian driver’s license.

The role has coverage across Victoria you may be required to travel and overnight stays within the state on occasions.
