About the role:

Are you ready to spearhead strategic growth initiatives and safeguard operational value? Zinfra is seeking a visionary Commercial Lead to join our team, supporting the Senior Commercial Manager across all facets of our expansion and portfolio enhancement endeavours.

As the Commercial Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving Zinfra's growth trajectory by providing astute commercial guidance, negotiation expertise, and governance oversight. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from origination and analysis to execution and delivery, ensuring optimal outcomes and risk mitigation strategies are in place. The Commercial Lead will manage new business upstream & downstream and QLD operations downstream.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with Zinfra's Operational Business Units to deliver strategic commercial objectives aligned with our growth and portfolio development aspirations.
  • Advisory Services: Provide expert advisory services on commercial matters, including brownfield transactions, divestments, partnering opportunities, and greenfield project development, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Negotiation and Documentation: Lead negotiations, draft agreements, and provide counsel on various commercial arrangements, leveraging your keen understanding of complex contractual frameworks.
  • Risk Management: Implement robust risk management protocols and uphold corporate governance standards to safeguard Zinfra's interests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contract Governance: Oversee contracts governance and approvals, liaising with internal stakeholders to incorporate operational, legal, and financial requirements into contractual agreements.
  • Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies at the onset of contracts, offering ongoing guidance during project delivery to mitigate disputes and optimize commercial outcomes.
  • Relationship Building: Foster collaborative relationships with operational teams, offering mentorship to enhance commercial acumen and risk management capabilities across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within operational teams, facilitating value-for-money assessments and lessons learned processes to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Compliance and Assurance: Provide diligent compliance, governance, and assurance support to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, licensing requirements, and other regulatory mandates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience in commercial management within the infrastructure, utilities, or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, drafting, and management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment.
