Help power the ACT’s energy future. As Contract Administrator, you’ll be the commercial engine room supporting our Client’s program across Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Design & Construct (D&C) projects and maintenance workstreams. You’ll partner with operations, engineering, procurement, finance and legal to protect value, manage risk and drive performance from contract award through to delivery and close‑out. 

Key responsibilities include

  • Contract administration — manage upstream and downstream contract administration including maintaining registers securities, insurances, compliance records and audit ready document control (e.g., Aconex/SAP familiarity an advantage). Ensure change controls are implemented including drafting notices for time and cost, preparing payment claims and other contractual correspondence.
  • Risk & opportunity management — facilitate identification and tracking (Risk & Opportunity Register), translate positions into pricing/program impacts, and lead value‑for‑money and lessons‑learned activities with delivery teams. 
  • Commercial inputs to cost & program — support estimate development and cost reviews in collaboration with Operations/Design/PMs.[NK1] 
  • Supplier & subcontractor engagement — coordinate with Procurement on work packages, evaluations, negotiations, award recommendations and ongoing performance/claims management. 
  • Stakeholder management — build trusted relationships with PMs/PEs/Managers internally and with the client, Support program reporting cadence and governance forums. 
  • Safety, quality & compliance — champion Zinfra HSE expectations and ensure records, approvals and approvals-to-proceed are maintained to standard. 

About you

Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar, with extensive commercial/contracts experience in energy, construction or civil infrastructure. 

  • Strong contract literacy (construction/O&M forms), confident in negotiations, claims, variations, EOTs, and change control. 
  • Sharp financial/commercial acumen with clear written communication (drafting notices/advice) and the ability to triage priorities under pressure. 
  • Skilled at partnering across operations, engineering, procurement and finance; coaching teams to lift commercial acumen and governance. 
  • Working knowledge of risk mitigation (insurances, guarantees, subcontracting) and an understanding of power/gas regulatory contexts. SAP/Aconex familiarity is a plus.
