About the role
We are seeking a proactive and hands on Asset Inspection Team Leader accountable for the safe, consistent and high-quality delivery of electricity asset inspection and POEL defect management programs. This role is critical in leading field Asset Inspectors and ensuring inspections of power poles, overhead lines, and associated network assets are completed in full alignment with contract requirements, client expectations, and regulatory obligations.
You will take full ownership of program outcomes, balancing operational delivery with a strong focus on client service, safety, and continuous improvement. You will create an environment where teams feel empowered, supported, and accountable for delivering reliable, high-quality results.
- Inspire, coach, and lead a diverse team of Asset Inspectors and Scheduler, fostering a positive, inclusive culture where people feel valued and supported
- Lead program delivery and performance in line with regulatory obligations, contract requirements, and the client Asset Inspection Manual (AIM), ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and required quality standards
- Lead client engagement and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and timely reporting, responsive management of client queries, audit processes, and full transparency across performance
- Own end to end program financial and performance outcomes, including KPI delivery, cost control, and continuous improvement, ensuring resources are optimised to meet contract commitments and client expectations
- Ensure all inspection outputs meet quality, data integrity, and audit requirements, maintaining a constant state of audit readiness
- Communicate plans, priorities, and decisions clearly, ensuring teams, contractors and stakeholders using data to drive performance, manage risk, and inform decision making
- Partner with the Scheduler to plan and deliver against the Program of Work, balancing inspection volumes, workforce capability and quality outcomes, intervening early

- Demonstrated leadership experience in operational or field-based environments
- Ability to manage high volume work and tight time frames while supporting the team’s wellbeing
- Communicates clearly and lead teams with a practical, supportive, and hands‑on approach
- Working knowledge of systems such as Word, Excel, and SAP (or similar)
- Experience in electricity utilities and relevant qualifications in electricity maintenance (e.g., Certificate II in Asset Inspection, Cert III Linesmen) are advantageous, but we also welcome applicants with diverse experiences and transferable skills
