About the role

We’re seeking a new Facilities & Plant Coordinator to join our fast paced Dandenong South Depot. Taking a key role in the depot by overseeing the day-to-day operations with adherence to safe work method within the work area ensuring plant and equipment are operating in an optimal and safe fashion continuously seeking methods to improve and streamline operations.

The Facilities & Plant Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that all light fleet, plant and equipment the Projects group is allocated and costed to projects, fit for purpose (in service, calibrated and suitable for the required work), and optimised to ensure best safety outcomes and utilisation targets.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Coordinating fleet and plant allocation to projects, ensuring data in Retain is accurate and utilisation targets are being achieved.
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to optimise fleet size and remove under-utilised assets for cost efficiency.
  • Maintaining an accurate fleet database by collaborating with internal teams and following up on escalations promptly.
  • Overseeing onboarding of new vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and inclusion of required equipment.
  • Providing logistics support for moving fleet and plant between projects and reporting all movements to the Fleet/Plant team.
  • Ensuring equipment is being tracked and managed effectively, maintaining accurate records in Hilti and supporting maintenance and calibration activities.
  • Managing depot operations, including layout planning, visitor inductions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Delivering timely and accurate monthly reporting on fleet, plant, and equipment utilisation and costs.
  • Championing health and safety practices, actively supporting investigations, training, and adherence to company values.

About You

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organised, with strong planning and communication skills. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate data management, safe work practices, and effective coordination of fleet, plant, and equipment to support project delivery and operational excellence.

  • Competency in MS applications with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong database management and data analysis skills.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of project delivery requirements and safe work practices.
  • Extensive experience coordinating logistics in the construction or utility sector.
