About the Role

Zinfra is seeking a community-focused Local Project Engagement Officer (LPEO) to support delivery of the C2C Project across Central Queensland. 

This role provides the critical day-to-day community engagement function for the project, helping maintain positive relationships with landholders, stakeholders and local communities while supporting project delivery activities. 

Based in Gladstone, you'll work closely with the Community and Social Performance Manager and project teams, with regular travel throughout the project corridor.  

As the Local Project Engagement Officer, you'll be responsible for supporting community engagement activities, stakeholder communications and local issue management throughout construction. 

You will play a key role in ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate information, community concerns are appropriately managed and engagement obligations are delivered in line with project requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operate and manage the project information line 
  • Record and maintain stakeholder interactions and enquiry management systems 
  • Prepare and coordinate works notices for community stakeholders 
  • Support landholder engagement and property access communications 
  • Deliver community and project inductions to site personnel 
  • Coordinate local distribution of approved project communications 
  • Support community events, stakeholder meetings and engagement activities 
  • Assist with local industry, workforce participation and Indigenous engagement initiatives 
  • Provide weekly engagement reporting and issue escalation 

About You 

To be successful, you'll bring: 

  • Experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or landholder liaison 
  • Experience working on infrastructure, utilities, transport, rail, pipeline or transmission projects 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong administration and record management capabilities 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations 
  • A proactive, approachable and solutions-focused attitude 
  • Knowledge of Central Queensland communities and experience working with landholders, councils or community groups will be highly regarded.
