About the Role
Zinfra is seeking a commercially astute leader to oversee and deliver contract administration and commercial governance across NSW and QLD. This role supports operational teams by providing commercial oversight of work performed under panel and bespoke agreements for some of our key energy clients (e.g. Transgrid and Powerlink), as well as managing subcontractor arrangements, and driving value through strategic commercial leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies at contract commencement and throughout delivery
- Managing commercial risks, claims, disputes, and contentious matters
- Managing subcontracts and supplier agreements
- Ensuring high standards of commercial record keeping (payment claims, variations and other claims, schedule control, correspondence)
- Mentoring teams to uplift commercial acumen
- Driving continuous improvement, value-for-money initiatives and lessons learned initiatives
About You
You’re a proactive and experienced commercial professional with a strong background in energy, utilities or infrastructure. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, a collaborative approach and proven expertise in managing change and delivering results.
You’ll have:
- 7+ years’ experience in commercial, legal, finance or operational roles
- Advanced experience managing change, claims, and disputes as a contractor
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating and managing supply/subcontracts for major or multiple projects
- Strong knowledge of contract law, risk mitigation, and delivery models
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring and coaching junior staff
- The ability to work autonomously, prioritise workloads, and consistently meet deadlines
- Advanced commercial acumen and problem-solving skills
