About the role:

We’re seeking to engage a new Electricity Solutions Manager who will become an integral part of our Customer & Energy Solutions, digital leadership team. In this role, you'll spearhead the strategic utilization of technology to drive unparalleled value for our Electricity customers and business, while ensuring compliance and industry standards are met.

Collaborating closely across various business units you will craft a forward-thinking technology strategy for our Electricity business, that aligns seamlessly with our overarching business goals. Leading cross-functional teams, you'll oversee the implementation of our Electricity Program of Work, ensuring that every solution delivered is not only efficient but also fully supports our business objectives.

As the custodian of Jemena's Electricity technology landscape, you'll be responsible for its entire lifecycle – from conception to maintenance. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that every solution meets rigorous standards of compliance, security, and quality, providing our customers and stakeholders with the utmost confidence in our services.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with business stakeholders, providing a bridge between digital teams and the Electricity Distribution business unit, and ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and deliver value.
  • Leading the Digital / Electricity partnership, in collaboration with key Digital stakeholders.
  • Collaborating to develop and implement the Electricity technology strategy and vision.
  • Consulting with digital and business stakeholders to assess and anticipate current and future technology solution opportunities and developing a long-term action plan and pipeline of work.
  • Managing the relationship with key technology vendors and partners and overseeing vendor performance to ensure that technology solutions and services meet business needs and deliver value for money.
  • Partnering with Portfolio Manager to support and guide the creation of idea briefs and business demand, with clear articulation of business problem/opportunity, high-level requirements, and a defined scope, leveraging Project Services and Architecture resources including Business Analysts, PMs, and Solution architects.
  • Managing the utilization of project and BAU resourcing to enable the digital delivery program.
  • Partnering with principal architects and Digital strategy team to develop and maintain strategically aligned domain architecture and roadmaps, informed by industry and technology trends, and the operating risk and asset lifecycle status.
  • Analyzing industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Contributing to the regulatory submissions, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and roadmaps.
  • Planning – outlining clear roles and deliverables, understanding resource requirements, and impacts on the business, and supporting people through change.
  • Performance – rewarding and recognizing excellent performance and managing people with performance gaps.
  • Development – understanding your employees’ needs, focusing on growth and learning, seeking to provide development experiences and opportunities.

About you:

To be selected for interview your resume will give details of relevant industry experience and your experience leading cross-functional teams comprising architects, project managers, software engineers, functional analysts and data analysts, and technical/ support specialists. Demonstrated experience in electricity industry, highly desireable.

 

Additionally please highlight:

  • Experience in partnering with business stakeholders to co-develop a clear strategy for technology initiatives and align them with broader business goals.
  • Time spent translating strategy into initiatives and a high-level Roadmap that will enable the Electricity Networks business through technology
  • Experience with Industrial IoT, Enterprise Asset Management/Asset Performance management, SCADA and GIS technologies.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies, cloud computing, API integration, and data security protocols.
  • Understanding of cyber security requirements and obligations in the context of utilities industry
